Hapoel Tel Aviv in Talks with Jasiel Rivero

Hapoel Tel Aviv continues searching for an interior player to complete its roster, and Jasiel Rivero is among the names on the list. According to Tomer Givati, Dimitris Itoudis' team has already held conversations with the Cuban center.

Hapoel's idea is to fill the void left by Jonathan Motley, who headed to Crvena Zvezda. The Israeli team already has Dan Oturu, Tai Odiase, and Itay Segev, but still wants to add another piece to complete the interior rotation.

Rivero fits for several reasons. He has EuroLeague experience, knows Israeli basketball from his time at Maccabi Tel Aviv, and offers a physical profile with good finishing near the rim and the ability to play energy minutes off the bench.

It would not be an arrival designed to change the project, but rather to give it more depth. Hapoel already has important names and now seeks to adjust a specific position: a backup center who can provide toughness, rebounding, and points near the rim without needing too much playing time.

Rivero, born in 1993, comes from playing at Crvena Zvezda, after stints at Maccabi and several important projects across Europe. His career presents him as a proven interior player, useful in competitive contexts and with the experience to adapt quickly.

For now there is no deal closed. There are conversations and a clear need on Hapoel's part. The club wants to complete its roster under the rim and Rivero appears as one of the options that best responds to what Itoudis is looking for.
