A player who left his mark at Gran Canaria Arena is departing the Liga Endesa. The 2.13-meter interior averaged 8.8 points and 4.9 rebounds last season across 32 league games, numbers he elevated to 9.5 points and 6.6 rebounds in the eleven Basketball Champions League games he played.
Two impactful years in Las Palmas
His stint on the island was one to remember. He was a key piece of Jaka Lakovic's team that reached the EuroCup final in 2025, where they fell to Hapoel Tel Aviv, and delivered performances that remain etched in the club's record books: a perfect 9 of 9 from two-point range and a 29 efficiency rating in the 2025 Copa del Rey against Valencia, just shy of the tournament's historical record for the club.
That profile sums up what he brings. Tobey is not a power center, but rather a footwork and shooting-range big man, an interior capable of spacing the floor and punishing from the perimeter—something that has demand in Serie A.
