Barcello opened the second half scoring and Soriano received a foul from Tavares that sent him to the free throw line, making the second of his attempts. Smith Jr. scored Madrid's first basket and Soriano won the battle against the Cape Verdean center again. The latest arrival at Real Madrid continued taking charge by forcing a foul and making a free throw. Barcello replied from mid-range and Luwawu-Cabarrot scored again, this time near the basket. Galician defense was now unable to stop Madrid's offensive onslaught and Maledon continued leading. Childress forced a foul and maintained his scoring duel with the French wings of the visitors. Obradoiro's American point guard led the local attack and hit again with his most characteristic play, the pull-up jumper. Barcello replaced him with five consecutive points that prompted Martínez to call timeout. The American shooting guard was showing that his game impacts the ACB as well and was tied with Childress as the game's leading scorers with 13 each. A three-pointer by Meindl cut the difference to the minimum (60-61) during Obradoiro's best shooting stretch. But Real Madrid showed their effectiveness with two consecutive three-pointers, one from Smith Jr. and another from Luwawu-Cabarrot. The 77-88 score prompted another Epi timeout. The coach's instructions had an immediate effect this time with Agada's and-one. The Nigerian became Obradoiro's best player with a layup after a steal and the home team tightened the score. Galán stopped Maledon and Soriano received the foul after being assisted by Childress. The Dominican made only the second. Maledon also went to the line again and didn't miss. Childress found Soriano again but it didn't result in points and Maledon received another foul. His two free throws put Madrid up three with 32 seconds left. Local instructions turned into a Barrueta three-point attempt that didn't go in. Pradilla made two more free throws with 21 seconds left. Childress scored quickly with two and the foul was now on Luwawu-Cabarrot. The Frenchman didn't miss.
