NBA: 2026 Draft Order Set with Washington Wizards Leading Lottery Odds

NEW YORK. The NBA has finalized the provisional order for the 2026 NBA Draft, awaiting the lottery that will determine the top four selections. The Washington Wizards, with the worst regular season record at 17-65, hold one of the best chances at the No. 1 pick, sharing 14% odds with the Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn Nets.

The 2026 NBA Draft will once again capture the attention of several rebuilding franchises, with the lottery scheduled for May 10. That drawing will determine positions 1 through 4, while the remaining lottery teams will fill spots 5 through 14 in inverse order of their 2025-26 regular season records.

Following Washington, Indiana, and Brooklyn are the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings, both with records of 22-60 and 11.5% odds at the No. 1 pick. Next are the Memphis Grizzlies (9.0%) and two selections tied to multiple conditions: the New Orleans Pelicans and the Dallas Mavericks, both with records of 26-56.

In the middle tier of the lottery, the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, Miami Heat, and Charlotte Hornets also stand out—franchises that still retain mathematical chances of jumping to the top spot in the NBA Draft.

Once the lottery concludes, the first round will continue from pick 15 through 30 in inverse order of records. Among the already-determined selections, several traded picks stand out: the 15th pick will belong to the Chicago Bulls via Portland, the 17th will go to the Oklahoma City Thunder from Philadelphia, while the 30th belongs to Oklahoma City via Dallas, Washington, and Philadelphia.

The second round also presents a complex map of transactions. The 31st pick will go to the New York Knicks via Washington, Oklahoma City, and Houston, while the 60th will end up with the Washington Wizards via San Antonio and Miami.

The official schedule for the 2026 NBA Draft is already set. The early entry deadline for players will be April 24, the Combine will take place May 8-17 in Chicago, the first round will be held on June 23, and the second round on June 24.

The May 10 lottery will be the next major turning point for several franchises looking to change their future with a young star in the 2026 NBA Draft.
