NBA Roundup: Dončić's 45, Lendeborg's 37, and Hugo González Starts for Orlando

Sunday's NBA featured just four games but delivered elite performances. Dončić surpassed 40 points again in Los Angeles, Lendeborg carried the Warriors on his back, and the Nets—the last Eastern Conference team without a win—finally got on the board. For Spanish basketball, the headline was Hugo González's starting role in Orlando.

Hugo González in the Celtics' Starting Lineup

Celtics 108-97 Magic (BOX SCORE). Head coach Joe Mazzulla gave Hugo González the starting nod, and the Madrid native responded with 7 points in 14 minutes, shooting 3 of 5 from the field and hitting one three-pointer. After two scoreless games, he regained confidence on a night when Boston settled matters in the fourth quarter. The game remained tied entering the final ten minutes (77-74), but the Celtics dominated the fourth quarter 31-23, led by Jayson Tatum, who finished with 32 points and 7 assists. Paul George contributed 17 points and 8 assists.

The Magic, without Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs, leaned on Anthony Black and Tristan da Silva (23 points each) as their leading scorers. Franz Wagner dished out 12 assists but struggled from the field, shooting 5 of 20. Boston, despite shooting just 12 of 44 from three, improves to 5-1, while Orlando falls to 2-4.

Dončić Unstoppable Against the Raptors

Raptors 125-131 Lakers (BOX SCORE). The Lakers controlled the game for three quarters and nearly squandered it in the fourth. With Dončić orchestrating every possession, they led 104-82 entering the final quarter. The Raptors, without Kawhi Leonard, mounted a furious comeback with a 43-point fourth quarter that cut the deficit to six, but time ran out.

Dončić finished with 45 points, 15 rebounds, and 6 assists, shooting 8 of 12 from three. Walker Kessler was perfect from the field, going 6 of 6 for 16 points and 15 rebounds. In Toronto, Scottie Barnes scored 29, RJ Barrett posted a double-double (22 and 10), and Jamison Battle added 20 off the bench. The Lakers improve to 5-2.

Lendeborg Carries Shorthanded Warriors

The rookie scored 37 points on 13 of 19 shooting and made 6 three-pointers. The Clippers won the first quarter by eight (37-29), but the Warriors responded with a 34-20 second quarter and never relinquished the lead. De'Anthony Melton went 6 of 8 from three, and Brandin Podziemski nearly recorded a triple-double (17 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists) in a game where Golden State made 22 three-pointers.

The Clippers, without Bradley Beal and Brandon Ingram, had Rui Hachimura (24) as their leading scorer and fall to 1-5. Baba Miller played 6 minutes with 2 points and 2 rebounds.
