NBA: Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren Lead All-Defensive Teams for 2025/26 Season

The NBA officially announced the members of the All-Defensive Team for the 2025/26 season, with the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder as major protagonists thanks to Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren leading the league's best defensive lineup.

The selection once again confirms the enormous defensive impact of Victor Wembanyama, who continues to establish himself as one of the most dominant players in the entire NBA on that end of the floor. The French center led the San Antonio Spurs throughout the season as a true defensive anchor and adds another individual recognition to a spectacular campaign.

Alongside him is Chet Holmgren, a fundamental piece in the defensive structure of NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Holmgren was one of the great interior references for Mark Daigneault's team and once again demonstrated an extraordinary ability to protect the rim and defend in open spaces.

The NBA's best defensive lineup was formed by:

Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs)
Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Ausar Thompson (Detroit Pistons)
Rudy Gobert (Minnesota Timberwolves)
Derrick White (Boston Celtics)

The presence of Ausar Thompson further confirms the enormous competitive growth of Detroit Pistons this season. The young wing established himself as one of the most aggressive and versatile defenders in the entire league during the historic campaign of the Michigan franchise.

Rudy Gobert appears once again among the NBA's best defensive specialists, maintaining his impact intact at Minnesota Timberwolves, while Derrick White continues to be one of the most complete and reliable defensive wings in the entire competition.

The second All-Defensive Team was composed of:

Scottie Barnes (Toronto Raptors)
Cason Wallace (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat)
OG Anunoby (New York Knicks)
Dyson Daniels (Atlanta Hawks)

Oklahoma City Thunder stood out once again with the inclusion of Cason Wallace, another reflection of the defensive depth of the reigning NBA champion.

OG Anunoby, for his part, continues to establish himself as one of the league's great defensive wing specialists and was a key piece in the enormous defensive evolution of New York Knicks during these NBA playoffs.

The voting was conducted by an international panel of 100 journalists and specialized analysts. Each voter selected five players for the first team and five others for the second team, regardless of position.

Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren thus lead a new generation of defensive centers that is already shaping the future of the NBA.
