Nihad Djedovic will continue with Unicaja for another season, marking his fifth year with the Málaga club. The Bosnian wing expressed his happiness about staying, saying he is "delighted to continue at this wonderful club."
Unicaja and Nihad Djedovic will remain together for one more season. Following confirmation of his renewal, the Bosnian small forward reflected on his continued presence in Málaga, a city he arrived in five seasons ago and where he has experienced a period full of success and happiness. "I'm enjoying my time here in Málaga very much, competing at the highest level, which is something every player seeks. We have everything here and I'm very excited to enter the new season with a new head coach."
Regarding this new chapter under Txus Vidorreta, the veteran Bosnian player said that "whenever there's a change, there's an opportunity to improve and I'm ready for that and truly delighted to continue one more year at this wonderful club." Additionally, Djedovic wanted to highlight his trajectory at Unicaja, saying "I never would have imagined this when I arrived—my idea was one year, but it has turned into five years. I hope it can become many more years. That is my wish, and I will work for it. But truly, from the first day I arrived, I've enjoyed it immensely and then came the successes we've enjoyed together. Now I'm entering this season as if it were my first day."
Finally, Djedovic wanted to speak about the feeling the Unicaja fans transmit to him, saying "our fans don't need much telling—they are very loyal to our team. I just want to tell them that we are going to work hard so they can be proud of us. We will try to live up to the standard Unicaja should maintain, play the way Unicaja should play, and we will give everything 100% and with that we're sure we'll have chances to win more titles."
It's worth noting that since his arrival in the 2022-23 season, Djedovic has become one of Unicaja's leaders both on and off the court, thanks to his determination and talent on both sides of the floor. His impact on the game is also reflected in the team's victories—in the 192 games he has played, he has achieved 142 wins, which represents a winning percentage of 73.96%, the eighth highest in the club's history.
In this way, Djedovic will continue for another season in Málaga, where he has been indispensable in recent years as Unicaja has won seven titles (two Copa del Rey, two BCL, two FIBA Intercontinental Cup, and one Supercopa Endesa).
