Partizan hasn't finished moving in the market. A day after announcing Antonio Reeves, the Belgrade club is close to closing the arrival of Robert Franks, according to Serbian media Meridian Sport. The American power forward, who had started the season with the Nanjing Monkey Kings in the Chinese league, would arrive to strengthen a frontcourt that has suffered with the injuries of Tonye Jekiri and Derek Willis.
The move responds to a need that Joan Peñarroya's team has been dealing with since the start of the season. Partizan is 3-3 in the EuroLeague, on the borderline of the play-in spots, while in the Adriatic League they lead their group with a perfect record. With such a demanding double-competition schedule, the Spanish head coach needed more options in the paint.
40% from three in Japan
Franks arrives with the profile of a stretch four, capable of scoring from outside. Last season with the Ibaraki Robots in Japan, he averaged 17.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 53 games, shooting 40% from three. It was his third consecutive season in Japan, following a first stint with the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and another with Ibaraki, before moving to China this past September.

From G League Title to EuroLeague
His career has taken many turns. He went undrafted in the 2019 Draft after four seasons at Washington State, where he averaged 21.6 points in his final year, but carved out a place in the G League. In 2021 he won the championship with the Lakeland Magic and earned a call from the Orlando Magic, with whom he played seven games in the NBA. He then played in the Australian NBL with the Brisbane Bullets and Adelaide 36ers, and for Israeli side Hapoel Gilboa Galil before his stint in Japan. In Belgrade he will play in the EuroLeague for the first time.
