Real Madrid is already considering contingency plans in case Facundo Campazzo leaves for Panathinaikos. According to @erman_medya77, Kobi Simmons, currently with Baskonia, is one of the names being evaluated as a potential replacement.
The operation, in any case, would not be straightforward. Simmons renewed with Baskonia just days ago through 2028, so the Madrid club would have to negotiate with the Vitoria-based team if they truly decide to pursue the player.
Simmons comes off an interesting 2025/26 season in the EuroLeague. With Baskonia, he averaged 11.1 points, 1.3 rebounds and 3 assists per game, plus 10.8 in efficiency rating, establishing himself as a point guard-shooting guard with the ability to score and create off the dribble.
It's not an identical profile to Campazzo's. The Argentine is pure playmaking, defense, tempo and leadership. Simmons, on the other hand, offers more verticality, athleticism and scoring. It would be a different alternative, not a replica of the current Real Madrid point guard.
For now, everything depends on Campazzo. If Panathinaikos converts its interest into a real offer and the Argentine ends up leaving, Real Madrid would have to move quickly. And there Kobi Simmons appears as one of the names to watch.
