The Coliseum expected a reaction but witnessed the worst European performance by its team this season. Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos, arriving with four consecutive EuroCup losses, faced a rival with the same record and an opportunity to turn things around. Rostock Seawolves, who had never won away from home in the competition, secured a dominant victory and left the Burgos squad in a very complicated situation in their group.
A 1-15 run that changed everything
The game started evenly. A three-pointer by DJ Steward made it 12-13 in the first quarter, with Burgos still in the contest. From there, Rostock strung together a 1-15 run that opened a gap that would never close. With TJ Crockett leading the way, the Germans continued to punish every local mistake and reached halftime with a 24-point lead (27-51), their largest of the first half.

A comeback attempt without reward
Burgos came out of the locker room with three three-pointers that energized the crowd, but Rostock answered immediately. Baskets by Artur Konontšuk and Johnathan Stove pushed the lead to 31 points in the third quarter. In the fourth, Fisac's squad managed to get within 20 points with four and a half minutes remaining, but Rostock stretched the lead again to a final 59-86. Crockett finished with 19 points.
A Burgos squad in crisis with no answers
The Burgos team is dealing with an injury plague: they cannot count on Vlatko Čančar and, since Sunday, neither on Žiga Samar, who dislocated his left shoulder against Real Madrid and will be out for several weeks. The return of Retin Obasohan was not enough to change the dynamics of a team that has five consecutive losses in Europe and also lost in Madrid on Sunday. Rostock, who had beaten Bayern in the Bundesliga over the weekend, improves to 2-4 and leaves Burgos alone at the bottom of the standings.
