Sasha Vezenkov Named EuroLeague MVP for 2025-26 Season

Sasha Vezenkov has been named EuroLeague MVP for 2025-26, the competition's highest individual honor, after leading Olympiacos Piraeus to the best regular season record and delivering an outstanding campaign across all aspects of the game.

The 30-year-old power forward won the final voting, decided by coaches and team captains (35% each), accredited media (20%), and fans (10%). Sylvain Francisco of Zalgiris Kaunas finished second, while Elijah Bryant of Hapoel Tel Aviv took third place.

This marks Vezenkov's second MVP award, having previously won the honor in the 2022-23 season. He becomes only the second player to win the award twice, matching the record of Anthony Parker.

His statistics tell the story of his impact. He led the EuroLeague in scoring with 19.4 points per game and also topped the efficiency rating with 23.1 credits per game. Additionally, he finished fifth in rebounds (6.6 per game) and third in made two-pointers.

Consistency was another hallmark of his season. He reached double figures in 33 of his 34 appearances, surpassed 20 points in 19 games, and recorded four double-doubles. His performance was crucial in helping Olympiacos finish the regular season with a 26-12 record and secure first place for the third time in the last four seasons.

January proved pivotal for his candidacy. He averaged 23.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 29.0 efficiency rating while his team went 6-1, a performance that earned him the monthly MVP award.

He was also named MVP of the Matchday on three occasions and reached an efficiency rating of 30 or higher in eight games. Between Matchdays 20 and 23, he achieved a historic feat: he became the first player since the 2000-01 season to record four consecutive games with at least 32 efficiency rating.
Beyond the statistics, Vezenkov was Olympiacos's great competitive reference point. His ability to set the pace, step up in crucial moments, and sustain his team on both ends of the floor established him as one of the season's dominant figures.

Additionally, he made the All-EuroLeague First Team for the fourth time, tying Dimitris Diamantidis and trailing only Juan Carlos Navarro, who was selected five times.

With this award, Vezenkov also becomes the third Olympiacos player to win the EuroLeague MVP, following Milos Teodosic and Vassilis Spanoulis.
