Theo Maledon Named October Player of the Month

The Real Madrid player earns his second career Player of the Month award, averaging 25.8 efficiency rating per game with 18.4 points and 5.2 assists per contest

Theo Maledon is on fire. The Madrid star becomes the first Player of the Month in Liga Endesa 2026-27 after being the league's most efficient player so far this season, an award that includes the four October games and the inaugural September matchup.

The Frenchman started the season with a strong performance against Unicaja, recording 17 points, 7 assists, 8 fouls drawn and 23 efficiency rating.

The following weekend came his best Liga Endesa performance, with a career-high efficiency rating (38) to earn Player of Matchday 2 honors. Monbus Obra couldn't stop him in a game where he scored 25 points (his 15/16 free throws fell one short of the club record, held by Petrovic), dished out 7 assists, grabbed 1 steal and drew 9 fouls.

Theo's most modest performance—the only one below 20 in efficiency—came in Matchday 3. Still, he managed to reach 13 efficiency rating in just 13 minutes against Kids&Us Manresa, with 10 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound and 3 fouls drawn.

The Frenchman stepped up again in Matchday 4, posting another 24 efficiency rating in 18 minutes against Surne Bilbao: 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 6 fouls drawn.

Finally, Maledon capped off his stellar league start with another spectacular performance in Lleida in Matchday 5: 27 points (7 of 8 from three!), 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 4 fouls drawn and 31 efficiency rating in under 20 minutes on the court.

The Madrid player ranks fourth in the scoring leaders, with 18.4 points per game, and boasts a 92% free throw percentage (14th in the league, with 36/39), a more earthly 40% on two-pointers (10/25) and a superlative 75% from three-point range, the best percentage in the competition (12/16!).

Additionally, he currently ranks seventh in assists, with 5.2 per game. To these numbers he adds 3 rebounds per game, 6 fouls drawn and 0.6 steals, plus the distinction of having the best Plus/Minus rating in the competition, a +17.2 in just 20 minutes and 37 seconds per game.

And all this while Real Madrid, in addition to leading the league, boasts a perfect 5-0 record.

This is the second time Theo Maledon has earned Player of the Month honors, after winning the award in November 2025. On this occasion, the Frenchman has taken it a step further, posting the best numbers of his career.
