FC Barcelona and Tosan Evbuomwan have reached an agreement for the British player's incorporation into Barcelona basketball, with a contract binding him to the Club for two seasons through June 30, 2028. Blaugrana fans will enjoy the 25-year-old power forward standing 2.03 meters tall, who will strengthen the interior game of Sekulic's new Barcelona squad.
This will be his first experience in European basketball, following a professional career in which he has alternated appearances in the NBA (50 games) with strong performances in the G-League (99 games). He is an athletic player who fits well in a fast-paced offensive system, with good penetration in the paint to score near the basket, but also with solid three-point percentages.
College Career
Born on February 16, 2001 in Newcastle, Evbuomwan developed his game in college basketball at Princeton. Between 2019 and 2023 he played 83 games over three seasons, averaging 4.1 points in his first year, 16 in his second, and 15.2 in his final season.
After a brilliant final college stint, in 2023 he made the jump to the NBA, debuting with the Memphis Grizzlies before later joining the Detroit Pistons. In a total of 17 games he averaged 2.5 points with Memphis and 7 with Detroit. In parallel, he played in the G-League with the Motor City Cruise, averaging 15.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 32 games.
Standout G-League Performance
In subsequent seasons he also played for the Brooklyn Nets (2024/25), averaging 9.5 points in 28 games, and the New York Knicks. His most notable performances, however, continued to come in the G-League with the Ontario Clippers (19 points per game in 18 games), the Long Island Nets (19.4 points in 13 games), the Westchester Knicks (17.7 points in 12 games), and the Maine Celtics (19.4 points in 9 games).
In his final stint in the United States he played for the Greensboro Swarm. After averaging 17.4 points in 10 games, he had a brilliant playoff run, posting 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. Thanks to these performances he was named MVP of the G-League Finals and will now arrive at the Palau Blaugrana to strengthen the power forward position.
