jul 22 2026Virtus Bologna has announced the signing of Trent Frazier for the 2026/27 season. The American point guard arrives from Zenit Saint Petersburg, where he established himself as one of the team's key players over the past campaigns.
Frazier, 27 years old and 1.88 meters tall, comes off averaging 12.7 points and 5.3 assists in 52 games in the VTB League. His performance and leadership even led to him being named captain of the Russian squad.
The Virtus newcomer also made an impact in the Russian Cup. He was named MVP of the Final Four in 2023 and 2024, first despite Zenit's loss to Nizhny Novgorod and later leading the team to the title with 18 points and 5 assists in the final.
Beyond his scoring ability and playmaking, Frazier arrives with a reputation as an intense defender. During his college career at Illinois, he was named to the All-Big Ten defensive team twice, a stat that well explains his competitive profile.
Before making the jump to Zenit, he started his professional career at FMP Belgrade, where he posted 20.7 points and 6.2 assists in the ABA League. Now he will have his first opportunity in the EuroLeague with a Virtus team that adds direction, character, and experience on the perimeter.
