UCAM Murcia Takes Legal Action Against David DeJulius Over Contract Dispute

UCAM Murcia has announced that it will pursue legal action against David DeJulius after the player informed the club of his intention to breach his contract signed between both parties.

According to a statement released by the Murcia-based club, the American point guard had reached an agreement on March 6 to extend his contract with the club through the end of the 2027/28 season. However, just a few months later, DeJulius reportedly informed UCAM that he had no intention of honoring that commitment.

The club considers this a unilateral decision that does not comply with what was signed and could cause significant damage to its sporting plans. For this reason, UCAM Murcia will take the case before FIBA and the competent judicial authorities to defend its rights.

The situation comes after a strong season for DeJulius in the Liga Endesa, where he established himself as one of the league's top point guards. The American averaged 17.7 points and 4.3 assists, shooting over 50% from two-point range and nearly 38% from three-point range.

His performance reportedly attracted interest from other clubs, but UCAM Murcia insists that the player has a valid contract and cannot unilaterally terminate his agreement. The case now rests in the hands of legal proceedings.
