Valencia Basket Close to Signing Armoni Brooks

Valencia Basket is near completing the signing of Armoni Brooks for the upcoming season. According to Chema de Lucas, the orange club has secured the American shooting guard, though the move would be structured as a one-year loan from ASVEL.

Brooks signed with the French club this summer, but ASVEL's budget review has changed the situation for several players. His case falls within that new scenario: it would not be a permanent departure, but rather a loan so he can play the upcoming season away from Villeurbanne.

Valencia had been searching for a perimeter player with scoring ability and shooting range, and Brooks fits that profile. He comes off playing for Olimpia Milano, where last season he averaged 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in EuroLeague, shooting 41.6% from three-point range.

This is not a minor move for the orange club. Brooks can provide perimeter threat, recent EuroLeague experience, and scoring ability without needing excessive ball handling. A useful player for spacing the floor and giving more resources to the perimeter.

Real Madrid had also appeared in the race for the player, but Valencia seems to have advanced with more decisiveness in recent hours. The move still needs to be finalized in all its details, but the path is open and quite advanced.

If confirmed, Valencia would take advantage of ASVEL's situation to bring in one of the most interesting perimeter players remaining available in the European market.
