sep 30 2026Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with Cuban power forward Jasiel Rivero (2.06m, Havana, 31/10/1993, 32 years old) with Spanish passport to extend his temporary contract with the club's men's team through the end of the 2026-27 season.
The international Cuban interior joined the first team's training sessions on Monday, August 24 to strengthen sessions amid the absences of players called up by their national teams and subsequently signed a one-month temporary contract on August 31.
So far this season, Rivero has appeared in three official games with numbers of 8.6 points on 2/3 from three-pointers and 4 rebounds (2.6 of them offensive) for a rating of 8.3.
In what will be his third season as a Valencia player, following his two campaigns at Valencia Basket between 2021 and 2023, Jasiel has already increased his game count with Valencia Basket to 108. In his first stint, his numbers were 10.8 points, 4 rebounds and 12.2 rating credits and he was named Liga Endesa Player of the Month on two occasions, in October and December 2022.
