Vlatko Cancar Returns to Recoletas Salud SP Burgos

The Slovenian small forward will begin his second stint with San Pablo Burgos in the 2026/27 Liga Endesa season

Vlatko Cancar (10/04/1997, Koper, Slovenia) will return to defend the colors of San Pablo Burgos in the 2026/27 Liga Endesa season, marking the start of his second spell with the Coliseum club. The 2.01m Slovenian wing played one and a half seasons with the Burgos-based team before heading to the NBA, where he won a championship with the Denver Nuggets in 2023, and is an international with his national team.

The player began his professional career competing in Slovenia and Serbia, where he was part of Mega Leks, before signing with San Pablo Burgos in March 2018, in an ACB campaign in which he played 12 games to secure Castile's permanence in his debut season in the category.

That summer, Cancar renewed for two seasons with the Coliseum team, with whom he stayed for the first of them, accumulating a total of 46 Liga Endesa games in Burgos before heading to the NBA with the Denver Nuggets.

The wing spent six seasons in the top competition in the United States, where he won the NBA championship in 2023, the first and only title in Denver franchise history.

After his time in the NBA, Cancar signed with EA7 Milan for the 2025/26 season, with whom he made his EuroLeague debut, playing in a couple of matches, before suffering a knee injury that kept him in the recovery process throughout the past season.

San Pablo Burgos wishes Vlatko Cancar all the best for this new chapter in his professional career.
