Yannis Morin: Major Reinforcement for Final Stretch of Season

ASISA Joventut has reached an agreement with French center to elevate quality during decisive ACB stretch

Yannis Morin is the new player for ASISA Joventut through the end of the season. ASISA Joventut and the French center have reached an agreement, and Morin will represent Penya colors through June 30, 2026, demonstrating the team's ambition during this crucial stretch of the campaign. The center comes from playing in the Japanese league, where he averaged 14.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 16.5 efficiency rating with the Tomaya Grouses.

Morin (8/13/1993, Martinique, France) is a 2.08m energetic center who has good touch finishing near the basket on offense, is capable of scoring from mid-range and has excellent court vision. Defensively, he has good wingspan and is very aggressive, plus he has a great ability to grab rebounds, which will add value to the green-and-black team.

Penya's new player trained at INSEP, France's national center for high-performance sports. In 2012 he signed with Cholet Basket and since then has played for several French clubs, including a stint with the Oklahoma City Blue (2017-18), a team affiliated with the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder.

Morin has experience in the Liga Endesa where he has played 14 games, all in the playoffs. In the 2023-24 season he joined UCAM Murcia in the final stretch, playing a key role in helping the Murcia team reach the ACB final. Last season he finished at La Laguna Tenerife, helping the Canary Islands team reach the competition semifinals.

The player has traveled with the team to Tenerife, and if the transfer from Japan arrives in time, he could make his debut with the team tomorrow.
