Zalgiris Captures 26th Lithuanian League Title with Dominant Finals Sweep Over Juventus
Zalgiris Kaunas claimed the Lithuanian league championship after defeating Juventus 95-77 in Game 3 of the finals, completing a dominant 3-0 series sweep. Under head coach Tomas Masiulis, the team secured their 26th league title while also winning the Lithuanian Cup and reaching the EuroLeague playoffs.
The Kaunas squad left no room for doubt in the decisive matchup. From the opening tip, they controlled the pace of the game, building an early 11-2 lead and closing the first quarter with a solid 28-18 advantage. Juventus attempted to stay competitive thanks to strong performances from Maxwell Lewis and Lukas Uleckas, but Zalgiris reached halftime with command of the scoreboard and a comfortable 50-39 lead.
The series was effectively decided in the third quarter. Sylvain Francisco made an impact on both ends of the floor, and Zalgiris built a 19-point lead at 61-42. Juventus mounted a brief comeback to cut it to ten points, but Moses Wright and Domantas Sirvydis halted the rally before entering the final period with a 71-56 advantage.
In the closing stretch, Dustin Sleva and Maodo Lo put the game out of reach with three-point shooting. Zalgiris extended their lead to 84-65 and prevented Juventus from mounting any further challenge. The final 95-77 score sparked celebrations in Kaunas and confirmed another historic season for the club.
Dustin Sleva led Zalgiris with 19 points, followed by Moses Wright with 15 and Sylvain Francisco with 13. Nigel Williams-Goss delivered a complete performance with 11 points and 10 assists, while Azuolas Tubelis, named Finals MVP, contributed 8 points in Game 3.
For Juventus, Maxwell Lewis was the standout performer with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Lukas Uleckas added 17 points and 9 rebounds, and Paulius Valinskas finished with 16 points.
