Leyma Básquet Coruña has confirmed the return of Alonzo Verge Jr., a 6'3" American point guard who previously wore the orange jersey in the final stretch of the 2024/25 season.
His first stint in A Coruña was brief, but showed clear signs of his ability to run the offense and create. In 3 games with Leyma, he averaged 8.3 points and 5.4 assists in 14.1 minutes, with solid shooting percentages: 60% from two-point range, 66.7% from three-point range, and 69.2% from the free throw line.
Before that arrival at the Coruña club, Verge came off a strong season with Turkish side Balikesir, where he stood out as one of the competition's most productive players, with 28.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 10.9 assists per game.
After that brief spell, the point guard continued his career at German side Rasta Vechta, where this season he has again shown his playmaking profile, averaging 17.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in 34 games.
Now he returns to the Coliseum to strengthen Leyma's ball-handling with a creative point guard profile, capable of scoring, assisting, and taking on responsibility with the ball. A return with emotional significance for the orange faithful, but also with sporting weight in the new Coruña project.
