The Minnesota Timberwolves have secured the continuity of Ayo Dosunmu, one of their top priorities this offseason. The shooting guard will remain in Minneapolis on a five-year, $112 million contract, according to ESPN, with the fifth year as a player option.
Dosunmu joined the Timberwolves on February 4th from the Chicago Bulls and quickly earned an important role in the rotation. His impact during the final stretch of the regular season and in the playoffs convinced the franchise to commit to him long-term, viewing his profile as an ideal complement to the core led by Anthony Edwards.
In his 24 games with Minnesota, 9 of them as a starter, Dosunmu averaged 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. With his extension, the Timberwolves strengthen the stability of a potential starting five featuring Dosunmu, Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, and Rudy Gobert.
