EA7 Emporio Armani Milan Wins 32nd League Title, Completes Historic Treble

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan reached the summit of Italian basketball once again. The Lombard club won the Lega Basket Serie A championship after defeating Umana Reyer Venice 72-86 in Game 4 of the finals, played at the Taliercio, and closed out the series 3-1 to claim the 32nd league title in their history.

The victory completes a historic season for the Milan club, which secures the domestic treble after also winning the Supercoppa and Coppa Italia. It is also Olimpia's fourth Scudetto in the last five seasons and the first league championship since Giorgio Armani's passing last September.

Armoni Brooks, who had already been named MVP of the regular season, was also named Finals MVP. The shooting guard was decisive in the championship game, leading the team alongside Marko Guduric, both finishing with 15 points and three three-pointers made. Shavon Shields contributed 12 points, Josh Nebo nearly recorded a double-double with 10 points and 8 rebounds, while Zach LeDay and Quinn Ellis added 9 points each. Ellis also distributed 5 assists and LeDay recorded three blocks.

Reyer Venice, seeking to extend the series in front of their home crowd, found production from Amedeo Tessitori, who had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and RJ Cole, the local leading scorer with 17 points. Ky Bowman added 12 and Jordan Parks finished with 10, but the Venetian team could not maintain Milan's pace after halftime.

The game was tied at the break, with Olimpia ahead 40-45 thanks to an Ellis three-pointer at the buzzer. The real difference came in the third quarter, when Brooks ignited the visiting offense and Milan began to open a gap that reached 56-68 before the final period.

Reyer tried to get back into the game in the final minutes with plays from Tessitori, Parks and Cole, but Milan always responded with maturity. Guduric punished from beyond the arc, Nebo and LeDay imposed their presence near the basket, and Ellis finished giving control to a team that did not let the opportunity to clinch the title on the road slip away.

With this treble, Olimpia Milano enters a very exclusive group within Italian basketball. Only Treviso, Siena and Dinamo Sassari had previously achieved winning all three national titles in the same season.

Peppe Poeta, who had lost last year's finals as Brescia's head coach against Virtus Bologna, celebrates his first league title as head coach. The coach wanted to share credit after the game and recalled the role of Ettore Messina in building the team, while also thanking the ownership, front office, coaching staff and the entire club environment.
