Future Champion's Fortune at Stake in Cantabrian Showdown

Two wins separate Leyma Coruña from Monbús Obradoiro ahead of their direct matchup and Coruña's rest day, but before that happens, both teams must battle from two of the northernmost points of the league's geography. The competition leader visits Grupo Alega Cantabria in Torrelavega, while their closest pursuer hosts Súper Agropal Palencia in peak form.

With just over a month left in the Regular Season, Primera FEB faces a crucial weekend in the fight for both the league title and direct promotion to Liga Endesa. A battle that will begin in the north of the peninsula and will feature the two Galician teams as protagonists.

Leyma Coruña has led the competition practically from the start, winning the most important games of the season and building different winning streaks to maintain their position at the top. And it is precisely for this reason that Carles Marco's team cannot afford to relax during their visit to Torrelavega if they want to keep their narrow margins intact. Because a slip-up in the Besaya capital could prove costly for the Coruña side just a week before the most important derby in their history against Monbus Obradoiro. A clash in which Grupo Alega Cantabria will try to maintain their home form in Daniel Love's debut with the team, and in which Lolo Encinas' side will try to send a signal to Santiago de Compostela where Diego Epifanio's team awaits good news before facing the match that will close the matchday. A real heavyweight bout in which point guard Tra Holder will make his debut with the home side to try to impose the team's style against one of the league's most in-form teams, Súper Agropal Palencia, which will seek another step forward in the league.

In between, the group of 15-win teams will look for another step forward with Alimerka Oviedo as the main contender after their six consecutive victories. A team that will fight for a seventh win in front of their home crowd in a matchup marked by the demands of HLA Alicante, which arrives after surprising Movistar Estudiantes, who are looking to bounce back from two consecutive losses. To do so, Toni Ten's team will have to impose their style at the Movistar Arena against Grupo Caesa Cartagena, determined to keep adding wins for survival. An objective shared by the league's bottom team, Melilla Ciudad del Deporte, which will test Inveready Gipuzkoa, which is moving in parallel to the Madrid side and needs to break out of the small slump of the last two matchdays to regain its previous momentum.

A matchday marked by debuts, and in which it will be impossible not to look at the Ángel Nieto in Zamora on Saturday afternoon. Because on its court, Augusto Lima will make his debut with Flexicar Fuenlabrada, called upon to make a difference from the paint for a team that could leave its playoff classification as a foregone conclusion. Something that Caja Rural Zamora will try to avoid at all costs, wanting to reign in front of their home crowd, just like Hestia Menorca, which needs to break their streak of three consecutive losses (-3) in the visit of Grupo Ureta Tizona, which will bring their need to add points to the court where they won their last LEB Plata Cup.

And all of this without losing sight of the usual appointment at Son Moix, where on this occasion Palmer Basket Mallorca will seek a win to escape relegation in the visit of Cloud.Gal Ourense, which needs the victory to increase their playoff chances over the remaining matchdays of the competition.
