Panathinaikos AKTOR has officially announced the signing of Isaac Bonga for the next three seasons. The German wing arrives at the Greek club following his stint with Partizan, where he established himself as one of the most complete defensive profiles in European basketball.
Bonga comes off the 2025/26 season with Partizan, posting 10 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in EuroLeague action, shooting 60.2% from the field and 82.7% from the free-throw line. Additionally, he was named ABA League Defensive Player of the Year twice, in 2025 and 2026.
His arrival strengthens Panathinaikos' perimeter with a physical, versatile player accustomed to defending multiple positions. This is not a complementary signing: Bonga can have real impact on a team that wants to continue competing for all titles.
The German also boasts NBA experience, having played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors, before returning to Europe with Bayern Munich and subsequently moving to Partizan.
At the international level, his résumé is equally impressive. He won the World Championship with Germany in 2023 and the EuroBasket title in 2025, a tournament in which he was named Finals MVP against Turkey and also the competition's Defensive Player of the Year.
Panathinaikos thus adds a piece of high competitive level: defense, physicality, experience and winning mentality for a project that continues to be built on a grand scale.
