Justin Robinson Joins Barcelona as New Point Guard

The 28-year-old, 6'1" point guard joins the Club through June 30, 2028 after a brilliant debut season in the EuroLeague with Paris Basketball

FC Barcelona and 28-year-old point guard Justin Robinson, standing 6'1", have reached a contract agreement through June 30, 2028. The American point guard arrives at Barça after shining in his first EuroLeague season with Paris Basketball. In addition to the French league, he has accumulated experience in the NBA and, after a brief stint in the Liga Endesa with Breogán in 2024, has also competed in the leagues of Australia, Italy, and France.

"It's an honor to have the opportunity to play for such an incredible and prestigious club as Barça. I'm very grateful and very happy," he told the Club's media after passing his medical examination.

The point guard, born in Manassas, Virginia on October 12, 1997, arrives at the Palau Blaugrana to take charge of the offense and bring vision, pace, and quick decision-making. He is an electric point guard with confidence in his outside shot and also in breaking down defenses and attacking the rim.

He is considered a "winner," but above all, "a leader on and off the court." "I want to continue being myself, be consistent, contribute on both offense and defense, and do whatever the team needs to win."

He also highlighted the magnitude of Barça: "Playing for a great club like this, in my second year in the EuroLeague, is a huge thrill for me and my family. I want to embrace the culture and everything it means to be part of FC Barcelona. Culers, I'm here!"

Growth in the NCAA and NBA
After developing his game at Montrose Christian School and Saint James School in Maryland, he completed his college career in the NCAA between 2015 and 2019, playing four seasons and a total of 125 games with the Virginia Tech Hokies, averaging 11.5 points and 4.4 assists per game.

Between 2019 and 2022, he combined summer leagues and G League play with several opportunities in the NBA, appearing in 68 games with five different franchises: the Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, and Detroit Pistons.

Heading to Australia
In 2022, he decided to try his luck abroad to solidify his career, joining the Illawarra Hawks of the Australian league. However, at the start of his first season outside the United States, he suffered a serious injury that prevented him from debuting until the following season, 2023/24, in which he played 33 games averaging 12 points and 4.4 assists per game.

And to Europe with a Brief ACB Stint
He finished the season by traveling across the world to join Breogán in March and experience his first taste of European basketball. He played nine games and played a key role in keeping the Galician team in the league, averaging 9.3 points and 2.4 assists.

After his time in the Liga Endesa, he headed to the Italian league to play for Trapani Shark. In Italy, he confirmed his high level, posting averages of 14.4 points, three rebounds, six assists, and a rating of 18 per game. He was named MVP of the month of November and finished the season as part of the All-Star Five of the competition.

EuroLeague Debut in France
His strong performance in Italy allowed him to make the jump to a EuroLeague team. With Paris Basketball, he has debuted in the top continental competition, posting averages of 14.6 points, 4.5 assists, and a rating of 14.4 in 36 games. Additionally, he delivered outstanding performances, such as the 35 points and a rating of 39 at Olympiacos in November, or the 25 points, six assists, and a rating of 35 that earned him MVP of Matchday 37.

In the French league, where he was runner-up, he registered averages of 13 points, 4.1 assists, and a rating of 9.7 in 24 games played.
