Maccabi Tel Aviv Secures Iffe Lundberg Through 2029

Maccabi Tel Aviv has secured the continuity of Iffe Lundberg for the next three seasons. The Danish point guard, who joined the club during the past season, will remain in Israel after signing a contract extension through 2029.

Lundberg arrived in Tel Aviv in November and his impact was immediate. In the EuroLeague, he appeared in 16 games for Maccabi, averaging 11 points and 3.6 assists, before missing part of the final stretch due to an Achilles injury.

His impact was also evident in the results. With Lundberg on the court, Maccabi posted a record of 10 wins and 6 losses, significantly better than the team's record in the remaining games.

Where he truly justified his contract extension was in the Israeli league. The Dane was named MVP of the Finals after averaging 17.5 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in the series against Hapoel Tel Aviv, helping Maccabi secure the domestic double of League and Cup titles.

At 31 years old, Lundberg brings experience, leadership, defense and scoring to a project seeking stability. He has previously played for clubs such as CSKA Moscow, Virtus Bologna and Partizan, in addition to having ACB experience with Manresa and Tenerife.

Maccabi thus retains a key piece to provide continuity to its roster. An established, competitive point guard with EuroLeague pedigree to continue leading Oded Kattash's project.
