NBA Roundup: De Larrea's 21 Points, Booker's 43, and Warriors Fall to 0-3

Saturday's NBA action had a Spanish flavor. Sergio de Larrea, who had played just six minutes all season, capitalized on the Mavericks' injuries to score 21 points against the Spurs in his best game yet. It was a seven-game night in which the 76ers and Rockets remain undefeated while the Warriors hit rock bottom.

Spurs 122-106 Mavericks

With Cooper Flagg, Kyrie Irving and Santi Aldama sidelined, Sergio de Larrea played 33 minutes and delivered with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, shooting 9 of 15 from the field and 3 of 4 from three-point range. He was the leading scorer for a Mavericks team that competed for three quarters and entered the fourth down just three (92-89), but the Spurs dominated that period 30-17 to secure their first victory. Victor Wembanyama added 23 points and 4 blocks, and Dylan Harper scored 22.

Suns 131-122 Warriors

Devin Booker scored 43 points, shooting 17 of 25 from the field, with 7 rebounds and 7 assists, in the Suns' home opener. The Warriors, playing their third game in four days, arrived in Phoenix without Stephen Curry, who has right knee soreness, and without Draymond Green, Brandin Podziemski and Al Horford, all dealing with back issues. They started 1 of 15 from three-point range in the first quarter and, despite 26 points and 6 three-pointers from rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, fall to 0-3—a mark they haven't seen in 19 years.

Bucks 116-127 76ers

Without LeBron James, who rested due to lower back soreness, Joel Embiid recorded a triple-double of 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. The Bucks led in the second quarter, but Philadelphia pulled away in the second half and sealed it with an 8-0 run when Milwaukee had closed to within three (114-117). Jaylen Brown scored 27 and Tyrese Maxey added 26. The 76ers improve to 3-0 while the Bucks fall to 0-3.
