INGLEWOOD — San Antonio Spurs dominated Los Angeles Clippers 118-99 in an NBA matchday, led by De'Aaron Fox's 22 points. San Antonio Spurs started the game with a very high offensive pace that quickly overwhelmed Los Angeles Clippers. With fluid ball movement and great shooting efficiency, the visiting team opened up a lead from the first quarter. During the second period came the real statement: an opening run of 11-2 and impressive accuracy that led them to convert 20 of their first 28 shots, reaching even 72% shooting in the opening minutes of the second quarter. That offensive onslaught allowed the Spurs to build a 26-point advantage in the first half.

Although Los Angeles Clippers responded after halftime, San Antonio's dominance was already firmly established. The home team posted its best stretch in the third quarter, winning that period 34-19. Bennedict Mathurin contributed 10 points off the bench and Kawhi Leonard added eight in that stretch to lead a closing 14-4 run that cut the deficit to 87-78 entering the final quarter.

However, the Los Angeles comeback was quickly halted. San Antonio Spurs regained control of the game at the start of the decisive period. Stephon Castle scored eight of the team's first ten points to stretch the lead back to 99-84, definitively extinguishing any comeback attempt by Los Angeles Clippers.

The Spurs' offense once again showed offensive depth. De'Aaron Fox led the scoring with 22 points (9 of 13 from the field), while Stephon Castle added 20 and Dylan Harper contributed 19 points off the bench. In total, six San Antonio Spurs players finished in double figures, reflecting the team's excellent collective performance.

For Los Angeles Clippers, Kawhi Leonard was the leading scorer with 24 points, extending his streak to 53 consecutive games scoring at least 20 points. From the second unit, Bennedict Mathurin added 18, while John Collins finished with 15 points.

The victory allows San Antonio Spurs to continue applying pressure in the upper part of the NBA Western Conference, keeping their chances alive to reach the lead currently held by Oklahoma City. The Texas team boasts a spectacular 27-2 record since February 1st, plus an 11-5 mark when Victor Wembanyama does not play.

For Los Angeles Clippers, the loss represents a small step back in the fight for the NBA play-in. The California team now has two consecutive losses, leaving them momentarily in ninth place in the West, while Portland advances to eighth place following their victory in the matchday.
