Olympiacos has made official one of the biggest moves of the European summer by announcing the signing of Jean Montero, who has signed a three-year contract and will remain in Piraeus through June 2029.
The Dominican point guard thus brings an end to his brilliant spell at Valencia Basket, where he became one of the great stars of European basketball and was a key piece in the conquest of the second Liga Endesa title in the club's history.
During the 2025/26 season, Montero played a total of 75 games across all competitions, averaging 15.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.1 steals, with a 36.2% three-point shooting percentage and an average rating of 18.4.
In the EuroLeague, the Dominican had an extraordinary campaign that earned him a place in the All-EuroLeague Team, in addition to winning the Playoffs MVP and Rising Star awards. In the Liga Endesa he was also selected to the All-ACB Team and was named Finals MVP, leading Valencia Basket to the league title.
At 23 years old, Montero now faces the biggest challenge of his career at one of the major contenders for the EuroLeague title, where he will share the spotlight with players such as Sasha Vezenkov, Evan Fournier and Nikola Milutinov.
