The Los Angeles Clippers strengthen their wing and frontcourt rotation with the arrival of Rui Hachimura. According to Shams Charania, the Japanese small forward has reached an agreement with the Los Angeles franchise for two seasons and $28 million.
Hachimura arrives from the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played in the 2025/26 season. In the regular season, he averaged 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, with a notable 51.4% from the field and an excellent 44.3% from three-point range, numbers that reflect his efficiency as a finisher and outside threat.
His signing represents an interesting move within the same city. The Clippers add a strong wing with size, the ability to play near the rim, and outside shooting to punish from the corners. He doesn't arrive to be a primary offensive option, but rather as a useful rotation piece, capable of contributing points without needing much of the ball.
For the Lakers, his departure means losing a player who had found an important role as an offensive complement. For the Clippers, meanwhile, it's an acquisition with a clear profile: physicality, efficiency, and experience to strengthen a roster that aims to remain competitive in the Western Conference.
