Sylvain Francisco Returns to France to Lead ASVEL's New Project

Sylvain Francisco is back in French basketball. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne has officially announced the signing of the French international point guard for the next three seasons, with a contract through the end of the 2028-29 season.

The player arrives from Zalgiris Kaunas, where he completed an outstanding season in the EuroLeague. Francisco averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game, while also shooting nearly 39% from three-point range. His performance earned him a spot on the All-EuroLeague First Team, establishing himself as one of the most prominent point guards in the competition.

The signing marks Francisco's return to France after five years competing abroad, with stints in Spain, Greece, Germany and Lithuania. ASVEL brings in a top-tier piece to lead its new sporting project under the direction of Tony Parker.

With his arrival, the Villeurbanne club adds talent, European experience and leadership at the point guard position, in a move set to shape the direction of the upcoming season.
