Tim Hardaway Jr. Bolsters Miami Heat's Perimeter Shooting

The Miami Heat continue building their new roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo. According to Shams Charania, the Florida franchise has signed shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. to a one-year deal worth $6.5 million.

Hardaway arrives in Miami to address a clear need: three-point shooting. The guard comes off one of his best seasons from beyond the arc, shooting 40.7% on threes on nearly seven attempts per game, establishing himself as a useful rotation piece.

Following the major move for Giannis, the Heat have limited salary cap flexibility for major acquisitions, making these types of deals increasingly important. Hardaway brings experience, three-point threat capability, and the ability to punish defenses opened up by the presence of the Greek star.

Miami continues adding role-player pieces to complete a roster that, despite the changes, will begin the 2026/27 season with the obligation to compete among the Eastern Conference's best teams.
