jul 01 2026The Miami Heat continue building their new roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo. According to Shams Charania, the Florida franchise has signed shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. to a one-year deal worth $6.5 million.
Hardaway arrives in Miami to address a clear need: three-point shooting. The guard comes off one of his best seasons from beyond the arc, shooting 40.7% on threes on nearly seven attempts per game, establishing himself as a useful rotation piece.
Following the major move for Giannis, the Heat have limited salary cap flexibility for major acquisitions, making these types of deals increasingly important. Hardaway brings experience, three-point threat capability, and the ability to punish defenses opened up by the presence of the Greek star.
Miami continues adding role-player pieces to complete a roster that, despite the changes, will begin the 2026/27 season with the obligation to compete among the Eastern Conference's best teams.
