The Basketball Champions League resumes this week with groups A, D, F and G, featuring Spain's two teams facing their first serious test. Both UCAM Murcia and Surne Bilbao arrive with two wins in two games, and both face unbeaten opponents. Unicaja and Asisa Joventut, who played matchday 2 last week, don't play until next week.
UCAM Murcia-Peristeri, fighting for Group D lead
The Palacio de los Deportes hosts Tuesday's (20:30) clash that could decide who controls the group. UCAM Murcia started with authority, with an 85-58 win over Varese in their opener and a comeback in Bamberg (67-86), and arrives with boosted morale after their victory over Leyma Coruña in the Liga Endesa. Facing them is Peristeri, who also has two wins, though much tighter: 93-87 over Bamberg and 82-85 away at Varese. The Greeks are ahead on point differential, so the winner will emerge from the matchday as sole group leader.
ALBA Berlin-Surne Bilbao, the big matchup
Surne Bilbao faces the group's most demanding road test on Wednesday (20:00) at the Uber Arena. ALBA Berlin is, on paper, the main rival for first place, and has started flawlessly: 86-110 in Prague and 90-79 against Igokea. Jaume Ponsarnau's team has also won everything, though with more difficulty against Slavia, and arrives with the momentum of their Sunday victory over MoraBanc Andorra, in which Martin Krampelj was decisive once again.

Trabzonspor and Cholet, chasing 3-0
In Group A, Trabzonspor visits Rytas Vilnius on Wednesday with a perfect record on the line. The Turks beat Nanterre in the first matchday and Sabah in the second, while Rytas went from beating Sabah to losing decisively in Nanterre. The French side, meanwhile, travels Tuesday to Baku to face Sabah, who haven't won yet.
In Group F, Cholet is the other unbeaten team of the week. They won convincingly in Holon (79-99) and against Vechta (84-66), and host Spartak Subotica, who won in their opener and then lost by two points to Hapoel Holon. The Israelis visit Vechta, who remain winless.
Matchups between struggling teams in groups D and G
The matchday is completed with two games between winless teams. Bamberg hosts Varese, with both basement dwellers in UCAM's group needing a win to avoid falling further behind. In Group G, Igokea and Slavia Prague, the two rivals who have already lost to ALBA and Bilbao, face off in Laktaši.
