Valencia Makes Move for Eli John Ndiaye: Real Madrid Must Decide by Friday
Valencia Basket has submitted an offer for Eli John Ndiaye, whose ACB rights belong to Real Madrid through a matching rights clause. The offer was registered on July 18 and notified to the Madrid club on July 19, giving Real Madrid five calendar days until Friday, July 24 at 11:59 PM to match the terms and retain the power forward.
Ndiaye, 22 years old and 2.04 meters tall, left Real Madrid last summer to try his luck in the United States, though a shoulder injury hampered his progress after signing with the Atlanta Hawks organization. This summer he competed in the Summer League before returning to the European market.
If the Madrid club decides to match the offer, the Spanish international will continue tied to Real Madrid. Otherwise, Valencia Basket will add a homegrown player who would strengthen their interior game ahead of a season in which they will defend their Liga Endesa title.
