Yabusele Leaves NBA, Signs with Panathinaikos

Guerschon Yabusele returns to Europe. The French power forward is leaving the NBA again and will sign with Panathinaikos on a three-year contract, according to Michael Scotto.

The move is significant in terms of name, salary, and context. Yabusele would arrive in Athens as one of the highest-paid European players at the moment, as part of a project that continues to strengthen its roster in the market.

His last NBA stint had two very different phases. With the New York Knicks he barely saw playing time, averaging 2.7 points in 41 games in a very limited role with the championship team. He then moved to the Chicago Bulls, where he regained prominence and averaged 10 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, along with a 38.3% three-point percentage.

For Panathinaikos, his signing is a serious statement. Yabusele brings physicality, experience, outside shooting, and the ability to play as a stretch four or score near the basket. A profile that is already well-known in the EuroLeague following his time at Real Madrid.
