Yam Madar changes sides in Tel Aviv. The Israeli point guard has signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the next three seasons, leaving behind his stint at Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Madar arrives after two years at the city's biggest rival. In the 2025/26 EuroLeague season, he had less playing time due to an injury and averaged 3.1 points and 1.4 assists in 16 games, but in the Israeli league he showed much more impact: 15.3 points, 4.5 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals.
His signing also carries special significance given the context. Hapoel fell precisely to Maccabi in the national final, and now one of their important players switches jerseys to join the yellow project.
Madar, 25, already has EuroLeague experience with Partizan, Fenerbahce, Bayern and Hapoel. His best European memory came in 2023, when he was named EuroLeague Rising Star with Partizan.
At Maccabi he will work again with Oded Kattash, with whom he already played for the Israeli national team. The club sees him in an important role and is betting on a still-young, competitive point guard with room to grow.
