jul 07 2026LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne has announced the return of Yves Pons, who has signed a one-year deal with the French club. The power forward returns to a team where he previously played during the 2022/23 season.
Pons comes off a 2025/26 season with MoraBanc Andorra, where he averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds in 30 games in the Liga Endesa. His performance has earned him a return to ASVEL, which continues to strengthen its roster with physical and athletic profiles.
The French international, known as "Air Pons" for his jumping ability and energy above the rim, will bring intensity, defense, rebounding, and verticality. He is not a player who needs much ball-handling to make an impact, but he can change the pace of play through his activity and physicality.
Before returning to France, Pons played in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies, as well as stints in the Liga Endesa with Girona and Andorra. In his only previous EuroLeague season, precisely with ASVEL, he averaged 3.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in 30 games.
His return fits within the French club's new project, which aims to elevate the physical level of the roster and build a more competitive rotation for the upcoming season.
