Ziga Samar Becomes First Signing for Burgos

The Slovenian point guard becomes San Pablo Burgos' first signing for the 2026-27 season. With a development player license, he has accumulated 116 games in Liga Endesa, with stints at Fuenlabrada and Gran Canaria

Ziga Samar (26/01/2001, Jesenice, Slovenia) has become the first addition to San Pablo Burgos for the 2026-27 Liga Endesa ACB season. The 1.97m Slovenian point guard, with a development player license, has experience in Spain's top basketball division, with two seasons at Fuenlabrada and the most recent two campaigns at Dreamland Gran Canaria, and is an international for his country.

The player developed in the youth academy of Union Olimpija Ljubljana in his native country until his arrival in Spain to compete in Real Madrid's development categories, with which he played between 2017 and 2019.

After his time with the Madrid club, Samar signed with CB Zamora, in a LEB Plata season, before joining Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, with which he competed in Liga Endesa between 2020 and 2022.

Samar headed to Germany, with one season at Hamburg Towers and two campaigns at Alba Berlin, from where, in January 2025, he was loaned to Dreamland Gran Canaria, the team with which he has played the last two ACB seasons.

From San Pablo Burgos, we wish Ziga Samar all the best for this new stage of his professional career.
