Harrison Barnes to Stay with Spurs on One-Year Deal

Small forward Harrison Barnes intends to sign a one-year, $8 million contract to continue with the San Antonio Spurs, according to Shams Charania.

The Texas franchise is betting on the continuity of one of its most important veterans, valuing both his leadership and experience in a locker room filled with young talent. Barnes will thus face his third season in San Antonio.

In the 2025-26 season, the small forward played 77 games, posting averages of 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.8 minutes per game. Additionally, he shot 45.6% from the field, 38.8% from three-point range and 82.9% from the free throw line. During the season he transitioned from being a regular starter to assuming a role off the bench, without losing his importance within the rotation.

At 34 years old, Barnes remains a highly valued player for his ability to space the floor, his versatility at the small forward and power forward positions and, above all, for the leadership he brings to a project led by Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle.
