Shooting guard Kevin Huerter intends to sign a new three-year, $27 million contract to remain with the Detroit Pistons, according to Shams Charania.
The extension allows Detroit to retain one of the rotation players who arrived during the previous season and earned his place in the project following the trade from the Chicago Bulls.
In the 2025-26 season, Huerter appeared in 69 games between the Bulls and Pistons, averaging 10.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 22.4 minutes, shooting 45.1% from the field and 30.8% from three-point range.
Following his arrival in Detroit at the trade deadline, he participated in 25 games, contributing 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Although his three-point percentage dropped to 29%, the Pistons valued his experience, his ability to space the floor and his contribution within the rotation.
